"This piece was inspired by many Southern summers spent basking in rivers dappled in sunlight. There is one particular spot at a stream, where the babbling brook calms into stillness, as if a peaceful presence lingers over the water. This spot always felt sacred, the way the trees stretch for the light, roots rising up out of the earth, curling back into the water. In this feeling, I imagined a being of light hovering above the waters in harmony with the elements."
